Beat the System is an exciting new musical show in development that explores how the power and magic of drums, song and dance can make anyone at any age feel better and more alive. Do you like to sing, act or dance? Do you like playing drums and percussion? Can you play a musical instrument? Would you like to try? You are welcome to audition for the cast and crew of Beat the System The Musical. We are casting for both a senior drum choir and a junior drum choir. Both choirs will have feature roles in both Act 1 and Act 2 of the musical. All ages, voice ranges and skills levels are welcome. Under 16's must be accompanied by parents or chaperone. What's a drum choir? Singers who can hit a drum or shake a shaker at the same time. It's easy really! Beat the System The Musical will feature all original songs and a script written by local Wycombe, South Bucks and Berks Talent. We will specifically include musical flavours from around the world that have made their way into the melting pot of the UK. |
We have the instruments...We have a vast range of instruments to play and learn including, congas, bongos, timbales, djembes, cowbells, wood blocks, shakers, chimes, cymbals, surdos, caixa/snare drum, repique as well as traditional and electronic drum kit. You are welcome to bring your own percussion items and single drums
with great songs to singWe have already written some great songs and compositions influenced by the sounds and rhythms of music from around the world ready to showcase showcase the singing and percussive talents of the cast including Brazilian samba, Cuban salsa, choirs from Africa, reggae, 80s disco/funk and some tasty rock.
